WHAT IS THE KETO DIET? ALLOWED FOODS, FORBIDDEN FOODS AND TRICKS.
What is the keto diet?
The keto diet or ketogenic diet combines the intake of foods rich in good fats and proteins with a drastic restriction of carbohydrate intake. So your body’s fat stores are converted into ketones that fuel your muscles and brain, instead of using carbohydrates for energy.
Optimal foods for the keto diet: meat, fish, eggs, butter, unprocessed cheese, seeds, healthy oils, avocado, low-carb vegetables…
Prohibited foods for the keto diet: ultra-processed foods, sugary foods, cereals, rice, pasta, legumes, tubers, alcohol…
3 Tricks to get into ketosis and start using fat for fuel:
TRICK 1: INTERMITTENT FASTING
Intermittent fasting is a term that describes a period of alternating periods of fasting and eating. Not eating food for a period forces the body to use its glucose reserves and then start using fat for fuel.
TRICK 2: EXERCISE
The sooner glucose stores are used up, the sooner the burning of stored fat begins. High-intensity interval exercises or weights can help. But our advice is that you enjoy the exercise or sport that you like the most, sport = health, regardless of what it is.
TRICK 3: #REALFOOD
The ketogenic diet only needs us to respect the correct proportions of macros. If the goal is only weight loss, it will work regardless of the quality of the food, but health will suffer. Real food and, if possible, organic, is our recommendation.
